In this re-imagined narrative, Edward Cullen from the Twilight Series meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It's an example of transformative storytelling serving as a pro-feminist visual critique of Edward's character and generally creepy behavior. Seen through Buffy's eyes, some of the more sexist gender roles and patriarchal Hollywood themes embedded in the Twilight saga are exposed - in hilarious ways. Ultimately this remix is about more than a decisive showdown between the slayer and the sparkly vampire. FUSION brings talented dancers of all ages and ethnicities from across the country together in order to celebrate music through various dance styles and cultural exhibitions. As young Asian-Americans are becoming increasingly prominent in the hip hop community and more recognized in dance, music, and film, MASA and 220 are strives to continue the tradition that promotes cultural awareness in the hip hop community. Since its inception in 1999, attendance at FUSION has increased dramatically, now boasting over 3000 attendees. Today it is well-known as being the largest student-run Asian-directed event at UCSD.
