The first Vega, flight VV01, lifted off from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana on 13 February 2012, on its way to carry nine satellites into orbit. This maiden voyage will add a new capability to Europe's fleet of launch systems. Vega's first payload consists of two Italian satellites: ASI's LARES laser relativity satellite and the University of Bologna's ALMASat-1. Flight VV01 will also carry seven picosatellites provided by European universities: e-St@r (Italy), Goliat (Romania), MaSat-1 (Hungary), PW-Sat (Poland), Robusta (France), UniCubeSat GG (Italy) and Xatcobeo (Spain). The mission is intended to qualify the overall Vega system, including the vehicle itself, its launch infrastructure and its operation; from the launch campaign to the payload separation and the safe disposal of the upper stage.

Hey ! This video is actually an excuse to ask you for a favor. Remember last year, when I got into the Video Games Live contest and finished 2nd ? Well, this year, even though I submitted a video (my last one, Cid's Theme), I'm not asking for your votes. Instead, I'd be really thankful if you'd vote for some friends of mine, a video games cover band called the Flying Penguins. They entered the contest with a great jazz-fusion medley of Castlevania Symphony of the Night: tinyurl.com It's these kind of performances that brings recognition to VG music. About this video, I just asked two days ago my childhood friend Kévin to jam with me on this theme (thought it would be more convincing than me trying to speak english). He came to my home this morning and after a couple hours working on it, we recorded some takes. Please keep in mind that we're both electric guitar player. We probably could do better with more time in our hands, but the contest's voting starts today. Can't help it if some people feel this isn't as clean as my other videos, we had fun recording it ! ;)
