Tutorial lesson how to dance to Vivaldi the only right way... - Scene taken from Igor Šterk's beautiful first full-length (and almost wordless) film "Ekspres, Ekspres" (Gone with the Train, 1996). lgor Sterk (*1968) graduated at the Academy of Theater, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. His short film "Razglednice" (Postcards, 1989) was awarded for best screenplay at the Yugoslav Festival of Short and Documentary Films in Belgrade. "Express, Express" marked the start of the "New Slovenian Film Movement," representing a new generation of film makers in Slovenia. The film won numerous awards - chosen both by critics and by audiences - at international festivals.

A call to love and protect those precious ones who cannot defend themselves. A modern fairy tale that combines a love story and characters who barely speak, but act. The setting is inside a building housing a great, old pool that is falling apart. Anton, the young apprentice to his father, the master of the baths, is the lead character who grows up during the course of the story. His time is devoted to convincing his blind father that the pool is intact and full of customers. Anton is an eccentric loner who dreams of the open seas. Similar desires are shared by Eva, a beautiful eighteen year old whose eye is caught by Anton's strange ways. A grave misunderstanding keeps the two of them from setting off in Eva's tug boat right at the beginning: Eva's father is killed when he's struck by a piece of the pool's ceiling. This misunderstanding is set into motion by Gregor, Anton's older, jealous brother, for whom the baths and the pool are a thorn in his plans. Gregor wants to destroy the building and entire town to replace it with a futuristic mall. No price is too high, no means too cruel. However, when his plans are botched, he turns against his father and brother.

Филмът се основава на романа на Владо Даверов "Вчера". Оператор е Красимир Костов. Музиката във филма е композирана от Кирил Маричков. Краят на 60-те години. Дана (София Кузева), дъщеря на дипломат в Лондон, се завръща в България и е настанена в пансион на езикова гимназия, в която учат предимно деца на висши партийни функционери. Иван (Христо Шопов) е син на човек на върхушката и дори по-сериозните провинения са му простени, докато Ростислав (Георги Стайков) е приет в училището само заради способностите си и при най-малката грешка може да бъде преместен. Освен че харесва и двамата, съученичката им Марина е човек, който обича сложните интриги, в които скоро ще бъде въвлечена и Дана. В училището се разследва бременността на ученичка и преподавателите са изнервени. На обикновените младежки лудории се гледа като на потенциални престъпления, докато не се случва непоправимото. Филмът е заснет по сценария на Владо Даверов, разказващ за училищния живот в немската гимназия Ернст Телман (ГЧЕ „Екзарх Йосиф І") в град Ловеч. Заснет е в тогавашната езикова гимназия в Пловдив (днес Духовна Семинария). Музиката към филма е създадена от Кирил Маричков. Песента „Клетва" дълги години е изключително популярна.
