We were only in Victoria for a single night - The Swimming Pool in this Place is REALLY AWESOME (it's linked to the Victoria Athletic Club) One Nice Thing about the Room it had a DVD player you don't see that often in Hotels a Nice Surprise - Regarding the "McDonald's" comment & Canada Merchants refusing US Based Credit cards without "CHIP & PIN" or RFID Chips The Problem Canada has Move to RFID Chips on Visa/MC/AMEX credit cards & mandatory PIN for Credit card use -vs- the normal Magnetic Strip "Swipe & Sign" that is Common in the USA - The Reason is Simple - NO CHARGE Backs (Liability shift to customer -vs- merchant) - it's impossible to say "it's an unauthorized charge / stolen card " - really? and how did the thief get the PIN? Also The Fee merchants pays Visa/MC when a customer uses a "Chip & Pin" is lower technically all Merchants are REQUIRED by Visa/MC to accept older US Based Magnetic strip cards but merchants dont always follow the policy This means as a Traveler you could be stuck in a foreign country with no local cash & unable to use any credit card - This only gets worse in 2013 when all Canada ATM (ABM) machines will require RFID cards - it's also an issue when traveling to Europe etc. US Visa/MC don't want to issue RFID credit cards in the USA because they claim the cost of replacing cards & readers is more ...
