Djivan Gasparyan is an Armenian musician and composer. He plays the Duduk, an Armenian woodwind instrument related to the orchestral oboe. He has won four world-wide gold Medal UNESCO competitions (1959, 1962, 1973, and 1980). He has the unique distinction of being the only musician to be given the honorary title of People's Artist of Armenia in 1973. In 2002, he received the WOMEX (World Music Expo) lifetime achievement award. He has collaborated with many artists, such as Hossein Alizadeh, Sting, Erkan Ogur, Michael Brook, Peter Gabriel, Brian May, Lionel Richie and Hans Zimmer among others.

Gohar Gasparyan (December 14, 1924, Cairo May 16, 2007, Yerevan) also known as the "Armenian nightingale", was an Armenian opera singer. Born in an Armenian family in Cairo, Gasparyan studied at a Music Academy in the city. In 1948 she migrated to Soviet Armenia along with hundreds of thousands of other Armenians from the Middle East. From 1949 she performed at the Armenian Opera Theater in 23 operas during her long career, as well as performing at concerts. She also taught at Yerevan State Musical Conservatory. Gasparyan was a People's Artist of the USSR, Socialist Work hero and Mesrop Mashtots order-bearer.
