"Alexander The Great" is decidedly different from the commercial potboilers, one difference being that there is no leading lady in the movie. Alexander the Great gains momentum with the demise of Prathapa Verma, an industrialist based in Dubai. Prathapa Verma's will shocks and amuses everyone even his son Manu. He has left all his belongings and possessions to an unknown Alexander Verma based in Mumbai. For Manu it becomes imperative that Alexander reaches Dubai. Alexander reaches Dubai but Manu is shocked to know that Alexander is not normal but an autistic chap who is extremely intelligent. The film marches ahead with some comic and thrilling sequences to a climax that is unexpected. The director describes the movie as a "comical racy entertainer". The movie is partially adapted from the Hollywood film Rain Man. Mohanlal packs a punch and pulls the strings of our hearts with his performance which endearing.
