This episode is probably the best episode I have seen from all the TNG episodes, hell maybe the best star trek episode I have seen. I mean don't get me wrong all the cool technology, wars, diplomacy, battles and exploration makes star trek awesome but this episode is amazing because it shows what all human beings want eventually. Good friends, knowledge, love and most importantly family. Money, looks, car/home/prestige doesn't give us true happiness.

An absolutely ...

An absolutely lovely production using this music, and yes, this episode also brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. Stunningly powerful drama. I think the only episode that may hit me even harder was "The Offspring". The first time I watched that episode, I was estranged from my daughter (but no longer!). when Lal told Data, with her dying breath, that "I will love for both of us.", I lost it for a good, long while. As stated in another post, we just don't get drama like this any more.

@DaveVidG thank you, I have been searching for the full version of this since for a long long time and now I have it. I have for many years had the longing to play this at two occasions, first being hopefully at my wedding and the second at my funeral. God it is so beautiful I tear up every time I listen to it. Though to be honest the flute is what moves something in me, the whole song is great but Picard's and Neelas duet is stuff of legends.
